Blenheim Palace

The magnificent palace set in 2100 acres of sweeping lawns, an amazing lake and beautiful formal and "pleasure" gardens is home to the 11th Duke of Marlborough and is the birth place of Winston Churchill.

Walking around the palace, you will have the opportunity to see antique porcelain collections, ornate tapestries and extraordinary paintings in each room. The gardens are also breath taking.

From Saturday 16th February until Sunday 2nd November 2008, the park is open daily (except Christmas Day) from 9am until 5:30pm (last admission 5:45pm)

From Wednesday 5th November until Sunday 14th December 2008, Blenheim Palace and the formal gardens are closed every Monday and Tuesday.

By car, Blenheim Palace is approximately 40 minutes from The Five Alls.

The remarkable mill is situated in Filkins, only a couple of minutes walk away from The Five Alls. Watch age-old craft skills turning fleece into fabric amongst the spinning wheels and weaving looms. The large mill shop offers something for everyone from garments, rugs and knitwear to accessories to match any outfit.

The Cotswold Woollen Weavers is open daily from January 1st until December 24th; Monday to Saturday 10:00am until 6:00pm and Sundays from 2:00pm until 6:00pm.

Free admission for all and a guaranteed experience like no other.

There is also an opportunity to climb Saxon St George's Tower and have 360* panoramic views of the city of Oxford.

Didcot Railway Centre

A chance to see a unique collection of Great Western Railway Steam engines, coaches, wagons, buildings and small relics and also a recreation of Brunel's broad gauge railway.

Didcot railway is open from 10:30am.

Steam trains and some other activities normally start at approximately 11:00am.


Lechlade Trout Fishery

Lechlade Trout Fishery

A great opportunity to fish all day long in a 9 acre lake with 250 yards of the River Leach being for Wild Brown Trout fishing. The average stocking size is 6 pounds and the lake is stocked with Rainbow Trout and Brown Trout.

There are different tickets available for example:
Full Day Ticket with a limit of 4 fish £50
Half Day Ticket with a limit of 2 fish £35
Evening Ticket with a limit of 1 fish £25

You can also hire boats. There is a choice of large white punts which are £15 per day and standard rowing boats which are £10 per day.

Tuition is priced at £20 per 1 hour session and there is a splendid tackle shop for any extra pieces of equipment and keepsakes from the day.
